LONDON: KENNARDPHILLIPPS BLUE MURDER

Hang-Up gallery currently host, in their new space in Stoke Newington, the latest work from KennardPhillipps. The show is titled Blue Murder and features the work of Peter Kennard and Kat Phillipps
You may, at first look of the photos below, think that this is a show of defaced images of
David Cameron (UK prime minister for overseas readers) but on closer inspection you will find that:
"the exhibition investigates social decline and conservative ideologies that exist in contemporary society. By utilizing deprived materials such as newsprint, charcoal and ink, the artists have ripped away at layers to reveal the ‘destruction of the welfare state’."

artbleat's political correspondent was dispatched to North London with a covert camera to record the event.
The show continues until 26th May so please go and see it.

LONDON: JO PEEL AND FLORENCE BLANCHARD

Flux is the name given to the joint show by Jo Peel and Florence Blanchard that opens at the Ben Oakley Gallery in Greenwich, South London on Thursday 18th April.
Flux mixes two artists with pretty different styles, but both have a background in street/urban art scene. Florence who hails from France via New York has been painting walls since the early 90's under the name EMA and Jo from the UK who is a member of the Scrawl collective, records the urban landscape with an honest eye.
The mix of the two promises something special.

There is a print available on the night or on a first come first served basis via email to the Gallery
The 3 colour screen print seen below being signed by EMA is an edition of only 12
Measuring 30cm X 30cm
This beauty will set you back only £40
If you can't make opening night and you want one then email Ben at the gallery ASAP

I nicked this photo from Florence's site, HERE

LONDON: CARRIE REICHARDT I'M AN ARTIST YOUR RULES DON'T APPLY

Carrie Reichardt has a solo show at Cult Mountain on Bethnal Green Road E2.
There are some photos on the artbleat facebook page HERE from the opening night, albeit an early visit I should have stayed around a bit longer as the party only started after I left the building.
Carrie has a mix of ceramics, moasics, prints and other various subversive work on show.
Cult Mountain, a newcomer to the east London art scene (that makes a refreshing change from the white wall galleries) has only been open for a few weeks and is described as an emporium with a focus on new and cutting edge artists, as an extension to the shop they will be offering a workshop screen printing studio and up-cycling facility.
